Each December I compile a list of debuts by Black authors that are being released in the year ahead. As usual, I’ve mostly focussed on novels and blurbs that have piqued my interest, though I’ve tried to cater to varying genres and tastes.

Supporting Black authors is crucial to diversifying the publishing industry and pre-orders are an easy way to demonstrate demand for underrepresented narratives. If you can pre-order these books, I – and the authors – will be so grateful. I’m also running a pre-order giveaway on my IG and TikTok @aminasbookshelf
